मुंबई, आठ अगस्त (भाषा) न्यूयॉर्क शहर को इस साल भारत से 3.06 लाख यात्रियों की मेजबानी करने की उम्मीद है। न्यूयॉर्क सिटी टूरिज्म एंड कन्वेंशन की कार्यकारी उपाध्यक्ष (वैश्विक संचार) टिफनी टाउनसेंड ने कहा कि शहर में आर्थिक सुधार हो रहा है, जिसे पर्यटकों की आवक से मदद मिली है।
उन्होंने ईमेल से बातचीत में पीटीआई-भाषा को बताया, ”पर्यटकों की वापसी से न्यूयॉर्क शहर के आर्थिक सुधार में मदद मिली है। इस क्षेत्र में लगभग 3.40 लाख लोगों को रोजगार मिला है। यात्रियों ने 2022 में सीधे 40 अरब डॉलर से अधिक खर्च किए और उसके आगमन का कुल आर्थिक प्रभाव लगभग 60 अरब डॉलर का रहा।”
उन्होंने बताया, ”न्यूयॉर्क सिटी को इस साल 1.14 करोड़ अंतरराष्ट्रीय यात्रियों की मेजबानी करने की उम्मीद है, जिसमें भारत के 306,000 यात्री शामिल हैं।”
वर्ष 2019 में न्यूयॉर्क सिटी में कुल 6.66 करोड़ यात्री आए थे। इसमें 1.35 करोड़ अंतरराष्ट्रीय यात्री और 3.36 लाख भारतीय यात्री शामिल हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि भारत हमेशा न्यूयॉर्क सिटी के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण यात्रा बाजार रहा है।
