गुरुग्राम: अमेरिकन ऑन्कोलॉजी इंस्टीट्यूट (AOI) गुरुग्राम ने मायलोप्रोलिफेरेटिव नियोप्लासिया-एसेंशियल थ्रोम्बोसाइटोसिस नामक दुर्लभ रक्त विकार से पीड़ित एक 65 वर्षीय महिला मरीज का सफल इलाज किया है। यह विकार, बोन मैरो में प्लेटलेट्स के अत्यधिक उत्पादन से उत्पन्न होता है, जिससे रक्त के थक्के जमने, रक्तस्राव और अन्य जटिलताएं हो सकती हैं।
मरीज को लंबे समय से हायपरटेंशन की समस्या थी और पिछले चार महीनों से सिरदर्द और मसूड़ों से हल्का खून निकलने की शिकायत थी। AOI गुरुग्राम में जांच के दौरान, डॉक्टरों ने पाया कि मरीज का ब्लड प्रेशर बढ़ा हुआ था और रक्त की मात्रा में असामान्यताएं थीं, जो एसेंशियल थ्रोम्बोसाइटोसिस की ओर इशारा करती थीं।
