उल्टी और पेट दर्द जैसे लक्षणों का अनुभव कर रहे 20 से अधिक व्यक्तियों को 19 जून को कल्लाकुरिची मेडिकल कॉलेज अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। एक जिला अधिकारी ने बताया कि विभिन्न अस्पतालों में 109 लोग इलाज करवा रहे हैं। गंभीर रूप से बीमार लोगों की स्थिति की लगातार निगरानी की जा रही है और उनकी स्थिति बदलते ही अपडेट दी जाएगी।
राज्य मंत्री (हाईवेज़) ई.वी. वेलु ने बताया कि मृतकों में दो महिलाएं और एक ट्रांसजेंडर व्यक्ति शामिल हैं। इस संकट से निपटने के लिए नजदीकी सरकारी मेडिकल कॉलेजों के विशेषज्ञों सहित चिकित्सा पेशेवरों को तैनात किया गया है। प्रभावितों की सहायता के लिए अतिरिक्त जीवन समर्थन से सुसज्जित एम्बुलेंस जिले में तैनात की गई हैं।
