द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट द्वारा मल्टी-सिटी सिंपोज़ियम सीरीज़ की शुरुआत
जयपुर: गैरलाभकारी संगठन, द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट भारत के प्राकृतिक आवास और स्थानीय प्रजातियों की सुरक्षा एवं संरक्षण के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। यह ट्रस्ट अपनी ग्रांट्स सिंपोज़ियम सीरीज़ शुरू कर रहा है, जिसके उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम का आयोजन अपनी जैवविविधता के लिए मशहूर शहर, जयपुर में किया जाएगा। होटल आर्य निवास में 29 मई को शाम 5:00 बजे से 7:00 बजे तक आयोजित होने वाली इस सिंपोज़ियम में जैव विविधता के संरक्षण के लिए कार्य करने वाले सभी इच्छुक लोग व संगठन हिस्सा ले सकते हैं।
इस साल सिंपोज़ियम का उद्देश्य जमीनी स्तर पर संरक्षण के लिए कार्य कर रहे लोगों व संगठनों को ग्रांट प्राप्त करने के लिए प्रभावी और समयबद्ध संरक्षण परियोजना प्रस्ताव डिज़ाइन और विकसित करना सिखाना है। भारत की समृद्ध जैव विविधता के बावजूद, जो दुनिया में सभी दर्ज प्रजातियों का 7% – 8% है और विश्व स्तर पर पहचाने गए 34 में से 4 जैव विविधता हॉटस्पॉट (हिमालय, पश्चिमी घाट, उत्तर-पूर्व और निकोबार द्वीप समूह) से समाहित है, मनुष्यों की तत्कालिक जरूरतों के कारण संरक्षण अक्सर पीछे छूट जाता है, जिसके कारण जमीनी स्तर पर महत्वपूर्ण कार्य कर रहे संरक्षणवादियों तक सहयोग नहीं पहुँच पाता है। द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट का उद्देश्य इस कमी को दूर करना, और संरक्षणवादियों को संस्थागत सहयोग प्रदान करके भारत में संरक्षण के लिए काम कर रहे संगठनों के बीच नेटवर्किंग का विकास करना है।
इस सिंपोज़ियम सीरीज़ के महत्व के बारे में श्री रुषिकेश चवन, हेड, द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट ने बताया, ‘‘जयपुर अपनी समृद्ध जैव विविधता और जीवंत संरक्षण समुदाय के कारण हमारी सिंपोज़ियम सीरीज़ की शुरुआत के लिए एक आदर्श स्थान है। हम संरक्षणवादियों और अंशधारकों को एकत्रित करना और उनके साथ ज्ञान बाँटकर उन्हें काम करने की प्रेरणा देना चाहते हैं। द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट का उद्देश्य संरक्षण की चुनौतियों के मूल कारणों तक पहुँचकर उन्हें समाप्त करना है, और ये सिंपोज़ियम सहयोग एवं इनोवेशन का विकास करने में मुख्य भूमिका निभाएंगी।’’
द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट का आवेदन पोर्टल (https://www.thehabitatstrust.org) वार्षिक द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट ग्रांट्स के लिए 1 जुलाई तक खुला रहेगा। 2.75 करोड़ रुपये की इन ग्रांट्स का उद्देश्य भारत में लुप्त होते वन्य जीवन और प्राकृतिक आवासों के संरक्षण के लिए समर्पित इन समग्र, इनोवेटिव और बार-बार चलाई जाने योग्य इन परियोजनाओं को सहयोग प्रदान करना है।
द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट ग्रांट्स के लिए मूल्यांकन की प्रक्रिया:
मूल्यांकन प्रक्रिया में वैज्ञानिकों और विषयवस्तु के विशेषज्ञों की टीम में 9 विशेषज्ञों का एक पैनल आवेदनों का आकलन करेगा। इसमें संबद्धता, संरक्षण के अपेक्षित प्रभाव, हितधारक की सहभागिता, विस्तार की क्षमता, दोबारा चलाई जाने की क्षमता, और सस्टेनेबिलिटी जैसे मानकों के आधार पर परियोजनाओं का चयन किया जाएगा, जिससे संरक्षण के प्रयासों को बढ़ावा देने की संस्थान की प्रतिबद्धता प्रदर्शित होती है।
भारत की जैवविविधता के संरक्षण के लिए काम करने वाले लोगों और गैर लाभकारी संस्थाओं से निम्नलिखित श्रेणियों में ग्रांट के लिए आवेदन आमंत्रित किए जा रहे हैंः
- टीएचटी कंज़र्वेशन ग्रांटः यह ग्रांट उन संगठनों को दी जाती है, जो कम से कम पाँच साल से वन्यजीवों के संरक्षण का कार्य कर रहे हैं। इस ग्रांट का उद्देश्य प्राकृतिक आवासों के नष्ट होने, जैव विविधता खत्म होने, और मानव-वन्यजीवों के टकराव जैसी गंभीर चुनौतियों को हल करना है। इस ग्रांट के लिए दो परियोजनाओं का चयन किया जाएगा, जिनमें से प्रत्येक को तीन साल की अवधि के लिए एक-एक करोड़ रुपये की ग्रांट दी जाएगी, ताकि वो सर्वाधिक प्रभावशाली काम कर सकें।
- 2023 में टीएचटी कंज़र्वेशन ग्रांट दो संगठनों, सलीम अली सेंटर फॉर ऑर्निथोलॉजी एंड नैचुरल हिस्ट्री (साकोन) और वाईल्डलाईफ रिसर्च एंड कंज़र्वेशन सोसायटी (डब्लूआरसीएस) को दी गई थी। साकोन की परियोजना अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीपों में बड़े स्तर पर उपेक्षित भूमिगत गुफा आवास के संरक्षण के लिए काम कर रही है। वहीं डब्लूआरसीएस मध्य प्रदेश के खंडवा और बुरहानपुर जिलों में लुप्तप्राय वन्य उल्लुओं के संरक्षण के लिए काम कर रही है।
- टीएचटी एक्शन ग्रांटः यह ग्रांट कम ज्ञात प्रजातियों और आवासों के अत्यावश्यक संरक्षण के प्रयासों के लिए दी जाती है। इस ग्रांट के लिए तीन लोगों या संगठनों को चुना जाएगा, जिनमें से प्रत्येक को 25 लाख रु. की राशि इस शर्त के साथ दी जाएगी कि उनकी परियोजनाएं कम से कम दो साल से चल रही हों।
- 2023 में टीएचटी एक्शन ग्रांट नेचर मेट्स – नेचर क्लब, रिमुंग तासो और फॉरेस्ट फर्स्ट सम्हिती को दी गई। नेचर मेट्स – नेचर क्लब बक्सा टाईगर रिज़र्व के पास हॉर्नबिल के संरक्षण के लिए काम कर रहा है। रिमुंग तासो मनिगोंग, अरुणाचल में रेड पांडा और टाकिंस के संरक्षण के लिए ईकोटूरिज़्म द्वारा समुदायों को सशक्त बनाने पर केंद्रित है। जबकि फॉरेस्ट फर्स्ट सम्हिती स्थानीय लोगों की आजीविका में मदद करके थोलपेट्टी, वायनाड में हाथियों के नष्ट होते महत्वपूर्ण आवास को संरक्षित करने के लिए काम कर रही है।
द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट पूरे देश में प्रभावशाली परियोजनाओं में सहयोग दे रहा है, जिनमें समुद्री, ईको-रेस्टोरेशन, संरक्षण के लिए टेक्नोलॉजी, और जमीनी स्तर पर स्थलीय एवं मीठे पानी की परियोजनाएं शामिल हैं। यह संगठन ज्ञान के आदान-प्रदान और संरक्षण के अनुकूलित प्रयासों के लिए स्थानीय इलाकों की विशेषज्ञता रखने वाली एनजीओ के साथ साझेदारी करता है, साथ ही सरकारी संस्थाओं जैसे उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार और भारतीय नौसेना के साथ भी मिलकर काम करता है। उत्तर प्रदेश में स्थित दुधवा टाईगर रिज़र्व में यह संगठन राज्य के वन विभाग का सहयोग करता है, और उन्हें मोबिलिटी एवं निवेदन पर कॉन्फ्लिक्ट मिटिगेशन सपोर्ट प्रदान करता है, और साथ ही क्षेत्र में मुख्य संरक्षण और बहाली के प्रयासों में भी मदद करता है। द हैबिटैट्स ट्रस्ट भारत के पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों में हाथ न आने वाली एक लुप्तप्राय प्रजाति हूलॉक गिबंस के संरक्षण के लिए भी काम कर रहा है। यह संगठन संरक्षण की समस्याओं के मूल कारण को खत्म करने, मुख्य हितधारकों के साथ सहयोग करने और संरक्षण के लिए टेक्नोलॉजी के उपयोग में विश्वास रखता है।
