नई दिल्ली: भारत में डेंगू वैक्सीन का इंडियन काउंसिल ऑफ मेडिकल रिसर्च (आईसीएमआर) और पैनेशिया बायोटेक लिमिटेड द्वारा पहला चरण-तीन क्लिनिकल परीक्षण शुरू किया गया है। यह ऐतिहासिक परीक्षण पैनेशिया बायोटेक द्वारा विकसित स्वदेशी टेट्रावेलेंट डेंगू वैक्सीन डेंगीऑल की प्रभावशीलता का आकलन करेगा। उद्घाटन टीकाकरण रोहतक में पंडित भगवत दयाल शर्मा पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज में किया गया।
इस परीक्षण का महत्व भारत में गंभीर स्वास्थ्य अंतर को दूर करने की क्षमता में निहित है। वर्तमान में, डेंगू बुखार के लिए कोई लाइसेंस प्राप्त टीके या एंटीवायरल उपचार उपलब्ध नहीं हैं, यह एक ऐसी स्थिति है जो लंबे समय से इस क्षेत्र में एक सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य चुनौती बनी हुई है। चरण-तीन का परीक्षण 18 राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में 19 साइटों पर आयोजित किया जाएगा, जिसमें 10,335 से अधिक स्वस्थ वयस्क प्रतिभागी शामिल होंगे।
