शेख हसीना का कार्यकाल ख़त्म होने के बाद भारत को कूटनीतिक बदलाव का सामना करना पड़ रहा है
नई दिल्ली: विवादास्पद नौकरी कोटा विधेयक पर व्यापक विरोध प्रदर्शनों के तीव्र दबाव के बाद शेख हसीना ने बांग्लादेश की प्रधान मंत्री पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया। राष्ट्रव्यापी प्रदर्शन, जो शांतिपूर्ण ढंग से शुरू हुआ, जुलाई की शुरुआत में हिंसक हो गया। आरक्षण को कम करने के सुप्रीम कोर्ट के प्रयासों के बावजूद, ये उपाय अशांति को कम करने में विफल रहे, जिससे हसीना के 15 साल के शासन का अंत हो गया।

जून 2024 में, बांग्लादेश के उच्च न्यायालय ने 1971 के दिग्गजों के रिश्तेदारों की याचिकाओं के बाद कोटा बहाल कर दिया, जिससे हजारों छात्रों ने नए सिरे से विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू कर दिया। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने हस्तक्षेप करते हुए हाई कोर्ट के फैसले को निलंबित कर दिया। 21 जुलाई को, इसने पूर्व सैनिकों के कोटे को घटाकर 5% करने का आदेश दिया, जिसमें 93% नौकरियाँ योग्यता के आधार पर भरी जाएंगी। शेष 2% जातीय अल्पसंख्यकों, ट्रांसजेंडरों और विकलांग लोगों को आवंटित किया गया था।
इन परिवर्तनों के बावजूद, विरोध प्रदर्शन फिर से शुरू हो गया, प्रदर्शनकारियों ने अशांति के दौरान मारे गए लोगों के लिए न्याय की मांग की और हसीना के इस्तीफे की मांग की। यह अस्थिर स्थिति कोटा प्रणाली और बांग्लादेश के राजनीतिक और सामाजिक परिदृश्य पर इसके प्रभाव को लेकर गहरे तनाव को रेखांकित करती है।
