नई दिल्ली: विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर के अनुसार, भारत अपने वैश्विक जुड़ाव को बढ़ाने के लिए शिक्षा को एक महत्वपूर्ण साधन के रूप में देखता है। गुरुवार को एक कार्यक्रम में बोलते हुए, जयशंकर ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि शेष दुनिया के साथ अधिक गहन बातचीत में तेजी लाने के लिए शिक्षा भारत के लिए एक “प्रमुख माध्यम” बन गई है। उनकी टिप्पणी साउथेम्प्टन विश्वविद्यालय को एक आशय पत्र सौंपने के दौरान आई, जो राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति (एनईपी) 2020 के तहत भारत में एक परिसर स्थापित करने के लिए तैयार है।

मंत्री ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि इस तरह की पहल न केवल उच्च गुणवत्ता वाली शिक्षा को भारतीय छात्रों के करीब लाती है बल्कि भारत और अन्य देशों के बीच गहरे सांस्कृतिक और बौद्धिक आदान-प्रदान को भी बढ़ावा देती है। शीर्ष वैश्विक विश्वविद्यालयों को भारत में परिसर स्थापित करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करके, एनईपी 2020 एक अधिक जीवंत शैक्षिक पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र बनाना चाहता है जो अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों के अनुरूप हो।
जयशंकर ने इस बात पर भी जोर दिया कि शिक्षा भारत के भविष्य के लिए एक रणनीतिक क्षेत्र है, जो वैश्विक मंच पर और अधिक मजबूती से जुड़ने की देश की आकांक्षाओं में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। उन्होंने सुझाव दिया कि साउथैम्पटन विश्वविद्यालय के साथ सहयोग इन महत्वाकांक्षाओं को साकार करने की दिशा में एक कदम है, क्योंकि भारत अपने वैश्विक संबंधों और प्रभाव को मजबूत करने के साधन के रूप में शिक्षा का लाभ उठाना जारी रखता है।
