कोलकाता में एचसीएल स्क्वैश टूर के विजेता अनाहत सिंह और रविन्दु लक्सिरी रहे
कोलकाता: एचसीएल ग्रुप और स्क्वैश रैकेट्स फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (SRFI) के सहयोग से कोलकाता में आयोजित एचसीएल स्क्वैश टूर- पीएसए लेवल टूर्नामेंट के तीसरे चरण और दूसरे ज़ोनल टूर्नामेंट – ईस्टर्न स्लैम का सफल समापन हो गया। इन टूर्नामेंट्स का आयोजन 200 सालों से ज्यादा समय से स्क्वैश के खिलाड़ियों का विकास कर रहे ऐतिहासिक कलकत्ता रैकेट क्लब में 26 अगस्त से 31 अगस्त,2024 के बीच हुआ, जिसमें खिलाड़ियों की बेहतरीन प्रतिभा और प्रतिस्पर्धी भावना देखने को मिली।
एचसीएल स्क्वैश टूर, एचसीएल के स्क्वैश पोडियम प्रोग्राम का मुख्य टूर्नामेंट है।इसका उद्देश्य भारत में स्क्वैश को बढ़ावा देना और स्थानीय खिलाड़ियों को सर्वोच्च वैश्विक प्रतिभाओं से प्रतिस्पर्धा कर घरेलू मैदान पर अपनी विश्व रैंकिंग में सुधार लाने का मौका प्रदान करना है। चार ज़ोनल टूर्नामेंट्स में से एक, ईस्टर्न स्लैम जूनियर खिलाड़ियों विकास पर केंद्रित था, जिसने युवा खिलाड़ियों को उच्च-स्तरीय प्रतियोगिता में हिस्सा लेने और अपनी एशियन रैंकिंग सुधारने के लिए एक मंच प्रदान किया।
इस टूर्नामेंट का समापन कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि, प्रतिष्ठित स्क्वैश खिलाड़ी, सौरव घोषाल की उपस्थिति में किया गया। इस अवसर पर कोलकाता की समृद्ध स्क्वैश संस्कृति का हिस्सा रहे घोषाल ने कहा, “भारत में पीएसए-स्तर के टूर्नामेंट की मेजबानी करना हमारे लिए गर्व की बात है। इन आयोजनों से न केवल पीएसए वर्ल्ड सर्किट में प्रतिस्पर्धा का स्तर बढ़ता है, बल्कि ये देश में प्रतिभाशाली खिलाड़ियों की खोज करने और उन्हें आगे बढ़ाने का एक महत्वपूर्ण मंच भी प्रदान करते हैं।”
पीएसए पुरुष और महिला श्रेणियों में 3000 अमेरिकी डॉलर की पुरस्कार राशि के लिए मिस्र,श्री लंका,कुवैत, बहरेन, फिलीपींस, ईरान और भारत के 48 खिलाड़ियों ने हिस्सा लिया, जिनमें अनाहत सिंह (भारत, 112 रैंक),रविन्दु लक्सिरी (श्रीलंका,134 रैंक),रथिका सीलन (भारत,159 रैंक),सूरज कुमार चंद (भारत,168 रैंक),राहुल बैठा (भारत,205 रैंक) और जेमिका अरिबाडो (फिलीपींस,181 रैंक) सर्वोच्च खिलाड़ी थे। (देश)से (पुरुष विजेता) ने पुरुष श्रेणी में चैंपियनशिप जीत ली और (देश)से (महिला विजेता) महिला वर्ग की विजेता रहीं। यह चैंपियनशिप पुरुष वर्ग में श्रीलंका के रविन्दु लक्सिरी और महिला वर्ग में भारत की अनाहत सिंह ने जीती।
पीएसए टूर्नामेंट के अलावा,ईस्टर्न स्लैम में अंडर-11,अंडर-13,अंडर-15,अंडर-17 और अंडर-19 श्रेणियों में लगभग 250 जूनियर खिलाड़ियों के बीच कड़ी प्रतियोगिता हुई, जिसमें अमेरिका,सिंगापुर,मलेशिया और यूनाइटेड किंगडम जैसे देशों के खिलाड़ियों ने हिस्सा लिया।
एचसीएल में एवीपी और हेड ऑफ ब्रांड, श्री रजत चंदोलिया ने कहा,“इन टूर्नामेंट्स में हमें जो प्रतिभा और समर्पण देखने को मिले, उससे हमारा यह विश्वास मजबूत होता है कि भारत विश्व में स्क्वैश के क्षेत्र में अपनी महत्वपूर्ण पहचान बनाने के कगार पर है। एचसीएल स्क्वैश टूर और ईस्टर्न स्लैम जैसे प्लेटफॉर्म उपलब्ध कराके हम अपने खिलाड़ियों की क्षमता का विकास करके उन्हें इस खेल में नई ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंचने में मदद करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। अपने बुनियादी सिद्धांत – ‘ह्यूमन पोटेंशियल. मल्टीप्लाइड’ के साथ एचसीएल भारत में स्क्वैश खिलाड़ियों के लिए अवसरों का निर्माण करता रहेगा।”
