एडब्लूएस ने मुंबई में 8,000 से अधिक स्थानीय पौधों का वृक्षारोपण कर पर्यावरण संरक्षण की दिशा में बड़ा कदम उठाया।
दिल्ली: एमेज़ॉन वेब सर्विसेज़ (एडब्लूएस) इंडिया प्राइवेट लिमिटेड ने मुंबई के पोवाई और मलाड क्षेत्रों में जैवविविधता संरक्षण परियोजनाएं शुरू की हैं। इन परियोजनाओं का उद्देश्य पर्यावरण संरक्षण के साथ-साथ क्षेत्रीय समुदायों को सशक्त बनाना है। एडब्लूएस इनकम्युनिटीज़ प्रोग्राम के अंतर्गत इन अभियानों का संचालन किया जा रहा है, जिसका मुख्य उद्देश्य एडब्लूएस के संचालन क्षेत्र में सकारात्मक सामाजिक और पर्यावरणीय प्रभाव उत्पन्न करना है।
डॉ. अंबेडकर उद्यान, पोवाई में 4,500 पौधों का वृक्षारोपण
इस अभियान के तहत, एडब्लूएस इनकम्युनिटीज़ द्वारा पोवाई के डॉ. अंबेडकर उद्यान में आठ विभिन्न स्थानों पर 4,500 स्थानीय पौधे लगाए जा रहे हैं। इस परियोजना में ग्रीन यात्रा ट्रस्ट, जो एक गैरलाभकारी संगठन है, का सहयोग लिया जा रहा है। इन पौधों में औषधीय, परागण वाले, फूलदार और अन्य प्रकार के वृक्षों की 106 स्थानीय प्रजातियाँ शामिल हैं। इन पौधों को भारत के विभिन्न राज्यों से लाया गया है, जिससे इस वृक्षारोपण क्षेत्र में जैव विविधता को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
स्थानीय प्रजातियों का महत्व
इस अभियान के तहत, देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से लाई गई पेड़-पौधों की प्रजातियों को एक ही स्थान पर एकत्र किया गया है। इस वृक्षारोपण में हर प्रजाति की विस्तृत जानकारी के लिए सूचना बोर्ड भी लगाए जाएंगे, जिससे आमजन को पेड़ों की विशेषताओं और पर्यावरण के प्रति उनके योगदान की जानकारी मिल सके।
संजय गांधी नेशनल पार्क, मलाड में 3,500 पौधों का वृक्षारोपण
इसके अलावा, एडब्लूएस इनकम्युनिटीज़ द्वारा संजय गांधी नेशनल पार्क, मलाड में भी जैवविविधता संरक्षण अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। इस परियोजना के अंतर्गत 3,500 से अधिक पौधे लगाए जा रहे हैं। इससे पहले, 2023 में एडब्लूएस द्वारा इस पार्क में 6,500 पौधे लगाए जा चुके हैं। इस पहल का उद्देश्य इस क्षेत्र के वन क्षेत्र की बहाली और पर्यावरण संतुलन को बढ़ावा देना है।
परियोजना का उद्घाटन समारोह
15 अक्टूबर, 2024 को डॉ. अंबेडकर उद्यान में इस जैवविविधता संरक्षण परियोजना का आधिकारिक उद्घाटन किया गया। इस अवसर पर एडब्लूएस के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों में जोनाथन प्राईस, डायरेक्टर, डेटा सेंटर डिज़ाइन इंजीनियरिंग, एडब्लूएस (ऑस्ट्रेलिया) और मुनीश कुमार, सीनियर डेटा सेंटर डिज़ाइन डिलीवरी मैनेजर, एडब्लूएस इंडिया, सहित अन्य वरिष्ठ नेता उपस्थित थे। उद्घाटन समारोह में वृक्षारोपण स्थल का औपचारिक उद्घाटन किया गया, साथ ही परियोजना की जानकारी देने वाले बोर्ड और साईन बोर्ड्स का अनावरण किया गया। उपस्थित अधिकारियों ने कुछ पौधे लगाकर इस अभियान की शुरुआत की।
एडब्लूएस इनकम्युनिटीज़ का समग्र समुदाय विकास पर ध्यान
एडब्लूएस इनकम्युनिटीज़ प्रोग्राम का उद्देश्य न केवल पर्यावरण संरक्षण है, बल्कि यह कार्यक्रम समुदायों के समग्र विकास पर केंद्रित है। इस कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत 2018 में महाराष्ट्र के नवी मुंबई में हुई थी और 2020 में इसका विस्तार तेलंगाना के रंगारेड्डी जिले में हुआ। तब से लेकर अब तक, एडब्लूएस इनकम्युनिटीज़ ने वन्यजीव संरक्षण, पर्यावरण संरक्षण और शिक्षा व स्वास्थ्य ढांचे के विकास की दिशा में कई पहल की हैं।

2022 में, एडब्लूएस इनकम्युनिटीज़ ने मुंबई-गोवा हाईवे के नीचे एक वन्यजीव अंडरपास का निर्माण किया था, जिससे वन्यजीव सुरक्षित रूप से सड़क पार कर सकें। इसके साथ ही, करनाला वन्यजीव अभ्यारण्य में पर्यटकों की सुविधा के लिए सूचना बोर्ड और वाटर प्योरिफायर भी लगाए गए थे, जिससे अभ्यारण्य में पर्यटन को बढ़ावा मिल सके।
